THE DEPARTMENT of Education has clarified that there is no prescribed alternative uniform for teachers in public schools.
According to DepEd, teachers may wear any shirt with a collar and they can wear the shirts used during school events.
“Our teachers can wear the DepEd collared shirts that they already have. Any color. Worn in any previous event. Kaya hindi na po kailangan bumili,” DepEd Spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa said.
This allowed for the comfort of the teachers amid the extreme heat being experienced in the country.
In addition, DepEd permits teachers and non-teaching staff to wear any white collar shirt bearing the DepEd and MATATAG logos.
Alongside the collared shirts, teaching and non-teaching personnel should wear slacks, jeans, cargo pants, or any other matte black pants.
