DEPED ABRA LAUNCHES FEEDING PROGRAM
THE DEPARTMENT of Education-Abra Schools Division Office and the Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Carabao Center recently launched the school-based feeding program in the province.
This is in line with the government’s initiative to institutionalize a national feeding program for undernourished children in public schools.
Melinda Galacgac of DA-PPC said that more than 4,000 children in Abra are undernourished. They will benefit from the milk feeding program.
The PPC will supply schools with fresh and pasteurized carabao milk.
The milk feeding program aims to develop the habit of drinking milk among the SBFP beneficiaries.
Through this program, the government hopes to boost children’s health, class attendance and school performance.
