COCA-COLA, TEACH FOR THE PHILIPPINES INK PACT ON ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM

/ 26 July 2021

COCA-COLA Philippines, through its social arm Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, signed an agreement with Teach for the Philippines for a program that inspires and educates teachers, students and families to become responsible environmental stewards.

Coca-Cola is supporting the migration of its three environmental education modules to various alternative delivery modes as part of its cooperation with TFP, an organization that seeks to guarantee that all Filipino children have access to an inclusive, relevant, and good education.

Cecile Alcantara, president of Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, said the foundation recognizes the collaborative efforts in forming young citizens who are committed to caring for the environment.

“The saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ extends to children’s behavior toward their surroundings and communities,” she said.

In 2019, the foundation supported the rollout of TFP’s Batang Bayani Environmental Education modules to hundreds of students.

When face-to-face classes stopped because of the pandemic, the foundation supported the implementation of these modules to fit flexible learning delivery.
