BOC DONATES SEIZED GADGETS TO DEPED

THE BUREAU of Customs has donated mobile phones, laptops, educational materials and other seized goods to the Department of Education.

The bureau turned over assorted cellular phones and laptops from the Port of Clark in Pampanga and learning packets from the the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

“Rest assured that the process of donation and turnover of the items for donation are being expedited in compliance with existing laws, rules and regulations,” Customs Commissioner Leonardo Ray Guerrero said.

The BoC also donated Muslim books to the North Luzon Regional Office of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. For the  Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, it turned over 16 20-foot containers of twine, yarn droppings and cuttings from the Port of Cebu.

Guerrero said the BoC also donated goods and equipment to other government agencies like the Presidential Communications Operations Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health and Department of Transportation in compliance with the instructions of Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III.

From March 2020 to August 2021, the bureau turned over abandoned or confiscated broadcasting equipment, food items, temporary shelters, face shields and various medical supplies and equipment to government agencies where these goods will be put to good use.
