THE TANDEM of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan on Friday bared their Senate slate which included incumbent and former lawmakers, lawyers, and a veteran politician.

So far, the Robredo team has 11 senatorial candidates, six of which are guest bets.

They are former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, Senator Risa Hontiveros, detained Senator Leila de Lima, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, former Baguio Rep. Teddy Baguilat, and lawyer Alex Lacson — who dropped his plan to run for vice president to prevent splitting the votes with Pangilinan.

The guest candidates are reelectionist Senators Richard Gordon, Migz Zubiri, and Joel Villanueva, Sorsogon Gov. Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero, and former Vice President Jejomar Binay.

The five bets are also part of the initial senatorial line-up of the Ping Lacson-Tito Sotto tandem.

Liberal Party stalwart Senator Franklin Drilon said they have asked the guest candidates not to endorse a particular tandem.

Robredo said progressive leaders Neri Colmenares of Bayan Muna and Sonny Matula of the Federation of Free Workers are being considered for the remaining slot in the senatorial slate.

“Ang number 12 wala pa. Gusto sana namin someone who will best represent the marginalized sectors,” she said.
