PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. was the top beneficiary of online misinformation, according to Vera Files.
It said in its report that of the 336 viral online posts it debunked on social media, 52 were in favor of Marcos.
The former senator was followed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, President Rodrigo Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo, and Sen. Christopher ‘Bong’ Go.
“These misinforming posts either promoted the former senator’s presidential candidacy or distorted facts about his family’s ill-gotten wealth and the atrocities committed under his father’s dictatorship,” the group said.
It added that Vice President Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo was the top victim of misinformation.
Following Robredo were Sen. Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Pacquiao, Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso, Marcos Jr, and President Rodrigo Duterte.
