PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. will not join debates, his spokesman said on Wednesday.

Lawyer Vic Rodriguez said that the aspirant will only engage in discussions where he can fully lay out his platforms and solutions to the country’s problem.

In an interview with ANC, Rodriguez clarified that Marcos is not avoiding debates but would rather focus on his campaign.

“To my mind, sinasabi ninyo sila ay mga applicant for the highest position in the land, president. It should be a presidential interview other than a debate,” he added.

According to the Commission on Elections, debates should serve as platforms for the candidates to be known and scrutinized.
