SENATOR Risa Hontiveros on Thursday vowed to continue her fight against the abuse of children and women as well as against corruption in the government.

Hontiveros expressed hope that the public will help her go after officials guilty of abuse and misuse of public funds.

“Ayaw natin sa manloloko. Ayaw natin sa manggagantso. Ayaw natin sa magnanakaw. Patuloy natin silang lalabanan mula sa Senado,” Hontiveros said.

She cited her experience as a leading figure behind some of the Senate’s most explosive investigations in recent years, such as the probe on the so-called Pastillas scam or corruption scheme involving Immigration personnel and Chinese.

As chair of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, Hontiveros led the investigation which eventually led to the suspension and filing of criminal charges against dozens of BI officials and employees.

“May mga tumatawag na nga sa akin na ‘Resibo Queen,’ dahil kapag mga imbestigasyon daw, ang hilig kong maglabas ng mga resibo,” Hontiveros added.
