FORMER Quezon City Mayor Herbert ‘Bistek’ Bautista pledged to work for a faster Internet if he will be victorious in his bid for a Senate seat.

Bautista said slow Internet is one of the problems hounding the country. If he wins, he said he will work to make every part of the country “connected.”

So pagsama-samahin mo ‘yung pera ng mayayaman ‘dun para sila naman ang mag-provide, o sa Mindanao ganoon din,” Bautista who is running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition, said.

He stressed that students, workers and industry depend on a fast WiFi access.

“Palakasin natin ‘yung WiFi. Siguraduhin natin ‘yung backbone natin, ‘yun ang hawak ng national government,” he added.

A recent study of the National Research Council of the Philippines found that one of the major challenges of teachers across the country is having internet access.
