GOV’T SHOULD HIRE MORE TEACHERS — HERBERT BAUTISTA

FORMER Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said that the government should hire more teachers and provide more educational materials amid its plan to resume face-to-face classes.
“Preparations for our children’s education should be as focused as preparations for the national elections. If Covid19 cases will continue to be low, it will eventually end the longest physical closure of schools in our history,” the UniTeam senatorial candidate said.
The Department of Education started the early registration of voters on March 25.
Bautista said that there should be enough classrooms and teachers as the education sector returns to physical classes.
“Kailangan may sapat na bilang ng classrooms at teachers, bagong libro, at mga kumpletong kagamitan,” he said.
Bautista urged DepEd to spend its “mega allotment” in the national budget for 2022 as soon as possible.
“The DepEd has in its disposal P3.18 billion for new classrooms and laboratory this year,” he said.
