FORMER senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. on Tuesday confirmed his intention to run for president next year.

“I am announcing my intention to run for the presidency of the Philippines in the upcoming 2022 elections,” Marcos said in a Facebook video

“I will bring back unifying form of leadership in the country,” he added.

On Tuesday, Marcos took his oath as member of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas that endorsed him for the 2022 presidential race.

“Hangad kong ibalik ang mapagkaisang paglilingkod na magbubuklod sa ating bansa. Tayo’y magkaisa at sama-sama tayong babangon mula sa hagupit ng pandemya. Babangon mula sa paglulugmok ng ating ekonomiya,” the former lawmaker said.

Marcos lost the 2016 vice presidential race to then-Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo by 263,473 votes.
