ALVAREZ DENIES LACSON IN TALKS WITH ROBREDO CAMP
PARTIDO Reporma President and Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez on Thursday denied reports that Sen. Panfilo Lacson is in talks with the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo.
PARTIDO Reporma President and Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez on Thursday denied reports that Sen. Panfilo Lacson is in talks with the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo.
He denounced these as part of the “dirty tricks” of their rivals.
Alvarez also shrugged off survey results showing Lacson lagging behind other presidential bets, saying some parties use surveys to condition the minds of the electorate.
The former House speaker addressed feelers sent by critics through the media that Lacson should withdraw from the presidential race owing to his poor performance in surveys.
“Sa akin naman, dapat isipin din nila na ‘yung eleksiyon ay May 9 pa ‘yon. Malayo pa ‘yon e,” the party president said.
“Ang tao puwedeng magbago two months before, one month before, two weeks before, three weeks before, one week before or even a day before —puwede pang magbago ng isip ‘yon,” he added.
Alvarez claimed that Partido Reporma remains strong, and their supporters remain firmly behind Lacson’s candidacy. Lacson, he said, has the ability, bravery, honesty, and experience to carry out the reforms the country needs.
