WHAT NPA RECRUITMENT? ALL OUR CLASSES ARE HELD ONLINE, SAYS PLM-OP

THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila blasted the anti-insurgency task force of the government for naming the school as one of the recruitment havens of the communists.

The PLM’s Office of the President said that it is not aware of any recruitment in the campus. It also has not received any information from authorities regarding the matter.

“The PLM administration is not aware of any recruitment by the CPP-NPA on campus nor had it been previously advised by the authorities of such activities.  By the way, all PLM classes are held online,” it said on Facebook.

“This allegation is a serious disservice to the men and women of the PLM and comes at a very bad time when its faculty, students, and staff are struggling with the challenges of online education. Such distraction in the midst of the Covid19 pandemic is indeed reprehensible,” the university added.

The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict earlier claimed that several universities were the “recruitment havens” of the New People’s Army and the Communist Party of the Philippines.

The university said such a tag is an insult to the hardworking PLM community who are being groomed to serve society.

It also vowed to assert its right to academic freedom.
