UP DILIMAN TO CONDUCT COVID19 MASS TESTING
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Diliman campus will conduct a mass testing for its employees in January to determine the Covid19 situation in its community.
UP Chancellor Fidel Nemenzo urged university personnel to participate in the mass testing for their health and safety.
“I urge everyone to participate in our mass testing initiative that will be conducted for the whole month of January. This is the best time for UP Diliman to undertake the mass testing of our personnel as it will enable us to detect those who have been exposed and are sick but do not know it,” Nemenzo said in a post.
The chancellor added that the testing will give them baseline information on the Covid19 situation in their community and it will serve as an input into their workplace policies.
Nemenzo said that he is considering reopening the campus in the near future.
“As a community, we move towards this future by strengthening our solidarity and learning – and rising – from the unique challenges of these times,” he added.
He encouraged all units and offices of the university to follow the safety guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid19 in the campus.
These guidelines include strengthening the work-from-home scheme for the next two weeks, reducing the number of personnel who will report physically and holding health and safety orientations.
