UP DILIMAN INAUGURATES NEW FOOD CENTER
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Diliman opened a new two-storey multipurpose food center located across its College of Fine Arts building.
According to school officials, food would be discounted for UP students, faculty members, administration staff, and researchers.
“They could avail a 5 percent to 15 percent discount, with payment transactions facilitated by their Paymaya-enabled IDs,” it said.
“The UP Food Hub was also designed to become a congregation and activity area, with food courts located indoors and al fresco under the shade of trees,” it added.
UP President Danilo Concepcion thanked the Department of Public Works and Highways for allocating the budget for and constructing the complex.
Concepcion said the core idea behind the project was ‘ginhawa or convenience, wider choices, and discounts for UP students.’
Meanwhile, UPD Chancellor Fidel Nemenzo said the food hub offers a wide range of food choices for the growing community
“This is a signal that UP Diliman is again opening up to the public,” Nemenzo stressed.
The food hub was inaugurated by officials of UPD and DPWH last December.
