THE UNIVERSITY of the East mourned the passing of former UE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Cornelio Tobias Peralta.

Peralta passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

“Rest in peace, Atty. Peralta, and thank you for your nearly five decades of Warrior service to the University,” UE said in a statement.

Peralta served as UE chairman and CEO from January 1982 up to May 1984. He was one of the longest-serving members of the UE Board of Trustees, having been elected to the Board in May 1973.

He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the UE Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc.

Peralta earned his Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of the Philippines. He also took up the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
