UE-CAS RAISES FUNDS FOR STUDENTS WITHOUT WIFI
THE STUDENT council of the College of Arts and Sciences in the University of the East launched a fundraiser for learners who are in need of pocket WiFi for online classes.
The project called “Connect a Student” aims to provide free pocket WiFi for 109 CAS students before the academic year 2020-2021 starts.
Through a raffle and monetary donations, CAS was able to collect P25,101 in the past weeks.
“To all the people who helped, sponsored, and donated, I am grateful that with your generous hearts, we can now start distributing pocket WiFi to CAS students. This is just the beginning, we will still strive to accumulate more funds to help more students,” CAS Student Council president Niña Myka Pauline Arceo said.
A post from the fundraiser’s Facebook page said that the first 20 pocket WiFis will be delivered and distributed to the beneficiaries this week.
Arceo also called on donors and organizations who can help them accumulate more funds.
Interested donors can course cash donations of any amount through PNB, BDO, and GCash.
