THE SOUTHERN Luzon State University and the local government unit of Paete signed a memorandum of agreement that will provide livelihood for locals.

The agreement aims to generate jobs in the fields of beekeeping and agroforestry.

The SLSU agreed to provide funding and human resources for the implementation of the project.

Paete Mayor Rojilyn Bagabaldo said that residents need to find new sources of income because the sculpture industry that the town is known for has declined because of the pandemic and logging.

The signed agreement also has a tree-planting component.
