SILLIMAN U PARTNERS WITH LANDBANK TO OFFER LOAN PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS

/ 16 July 2021

To help families in need of financial assistance to continue education amid the pandemic, Silliman University signed an agreement with Land Bank of the Philippines that will allow parents of students to secure loans.

Under the program, parents of students enrolled in the school can apply for loans up to P300,000 through the I-STUDY Lending Program of Land Bank.

Dubbed as “Interim Students’ Loan for Tuition toward Upliftment of Education for the Development of the Youth,” or I-STUDY, the lending program covers the tuition and other enrollment-related fees of eligible students.

LandBank President and CEO Cecilia Borromeo said that the program aims to assist parents and guardians or benefactors of students who may be reeling from the effects of the Covid19 health crisis.

“LandBank recognizes the need to support students in adapting to distance learning modalities. While we await the resumption of in-person classes, we hope that the I-STUDY Program can help students cover the financial requirements to purchase needed learning equipment and participate in online classes,” Borromeo said.

The I-STUDY program will be available only for Academic Year 2021-2022.
