SAMAR STATE U OFFICIALS TRAIN ON ZERO TRASH PROGRAM IN JAPAN
SAMAR State University officials trained on Zero Waste Management in Japan as part of its 5RS Innovation program.
Vice President for Administration and Finance Gina U. Españo, Administrative Officer Ma. Angelica O. Edar, General Services Director Faustino L. Candido and Administrative Aide Windell Delgra trained with the Zero Waste Academy, a non-profit organization in Kamikatsu in Tokushima prefecture, which is known for its implementation of zero waste policies.
They will be in Japan until Sunday.
The town is known to have successful recycling programs that the town expects zero waste before the year ends.
“This whole new system and process entail provisions of a new facility for sorting of plastics only, papers only, non-bio and biodegradable materials only- an innovative system which could be another first for the region, if not in the Philippines,” Españo said on SSU’s website.
