SAMAR STATE U AWARDED FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION PROJECTS
THE SAMAR State University received the Energy Efficiency Excellence Award for its “green” initiatives.
The Department of Energy awarded SSU for its energy conservation projects.
The university retrofitted buildings and installed solar panels as alternative power source.
It used LED lights which reduced electrical consumption.
SSU has been implementing its 5Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reflect, and Remember waste management system, in accordance to its Green University Roadmap.
“As SSU lives up to the award and continues to envision a smart, healthy, and green University, it shall continue the adoption of energy efficient lighting and cooling appliances through an established renewable energy systems and conservation measures,” the school said.
