SAINT PAUL U SUSPENDS CLASSES TO MOURN PASSING OF PRINCIPAL

Classes in Saint Paul University Quezon City were suspended to mourn the passing of its Basic Education Principal, Sr. Cecilia C. Sto. Tomas.

The school announced the demise of Sto. Tomas on Monday. She was 72.

“SPUQC has declared April 13 to 16 a period of mourning for the loss of our beloved Sr. Cecilia C. Sto Tomas, SPC. All students, parents, faculty, and staff are enjoined to attend our 9-day Novena Masses for the repose of the soul of Sr. Cecilia beginning April 13, 6pm via Zoom,” the university said on Facebook.

Classes will resume on Saturday for college and graduate school.

Classes in elementary and high school will resume on Monday.

The school’s offices will close for the week but inquiries and requests will be entertained via email.

Netizens aired their appreciation for the principal, noting her loving character.

“Rest in peace sister Cecilia. Thank you for being there with us. I will not forget you po. Thank you for all the lessons you gave us,” one said.

“We love you Sister. Thank you for being a spiritual mentor during the difficult times when I was still there. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand, another said.
