THE SAINT Louis University in Baguio City has agreed to implement an academic break as requested by students.

The school, however, has yet to set the dates.

Students earlier held a rally to push their call for a short breather, citing fatigue and  burnout.

They added that some of their peers had committed suicide because of the burden of distance learning.

The SLU administration said it will release a memorandum declaring a break “soon.”

Last week, student leaders in Baguio City petitioned the Office of the Mayor to implement a city-wide academic break to give students a breather.

The said petition was signed by representatives from the University of Baguio, Saint Louis University, University of Cordilleras, University of the Philippines – Baguio, and National Union of the Students of the Philippines – Cordillera.
