POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines President Manuel Muhi denied the allegations of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict that the university is a recruitment ground of the New People’s Army.

The NTF-ELCAC tagged PUP as one of the recruitment havens of the Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed wing, the NPA.

Muhi stressed that the university does not produce rebels for communist groups.

“Nailinaw na po ito noon pa sa ilalim ng administrasiyon ni President [Emanuel] De Guzman, at uulitin ko ulit na hindi tayo  isang recruitment haven ng NPA,” Muhi said after the flag-raising ceremony on Monday.

“Tayo po ay katuwang ng gobyerno sa pagbibigay ng serbisyong edukasyon na nagpoprodyus ng pinakamarami at pinakamahuhusay na mga professional sa bansa,” He added.

Muhi called for protection for the members of the PUP community .
