PUP CAMPUS: A MILESTONE IN ACCESSIBLE EDUCATION IN CALOOCAN

/ 16 March 2025

THE POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines – Caloocan Campus is currently under construction in Rainbow 5, Deparo, Barangay 168. This marks a major step in providing quality, affordable education to the youth of Caloocan.

This initiative is the result of efforts made during the tenure of a former District 1 congressman who championed the establishment of the campus.

Once operational, PUP-Caloocan will offer highly affordable education with tuition fees as low as P12 per unit, making it nearly free for students. This ensures that young residents, known as Batang Kankaloo, will have access to higher education without the burden of excessive costs.

PUP-Caloocan will be the first state university in the CAMANAVA area, setting a precedent for accessible and high-quality education in the region.

By bringing a renowned state university closer to the people, more students will have the opportunity to pursue higher education without having to travel far.

City Mayor Dale Along Malapitan has promised to continue working to ensure that no child in Caloocan is left behind in terms of educational opportunities.

The establishment of PUP-Caloocan aligns with the city’s vision of providing equal access to education for all.

This development is expected to boost the local economy by producing more skilled graduates who can contribute to the workforce. It will also attract more investments, making Caloocan a hub for academic excellence and professional growth.

For the youth of Caloocan, this project represents hope and progress. As construction continues, students and parents eagerly await the day PUP-Caloocan will open its doors, offering a brighter future for Batang Kankaloo.
