THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila has accepted more than 6,000 freshmen for

Academic Year 2021-2022.

“PLM is taking yet another bold step of accepting a high number of students despite the pandemic. As a publicly funded academic institution, PLM recognizes the right of Filipinos to accessible quality education and help them realize their dreams to become professionals and leaders in their chosen fields,” university president Emmanuel Leyco said.

“This recognition becomes especially important amid the unprecedented challenges brought about by the Covid19 pandemic,” he added.

The school said that the course assignments in the updated list of freshmen were determined based on student preference and academic qualifications, and the university’s technical capabilities and academic resources.

It said that nearly half of the applicants pursued the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Strand in high school, followed by about one-fourth who took up Accountancy, Business and Management.

“By academic unit, the PLM Business School will accept 28% of the incoming freshmen, followed by the College of Engineering and Technology (23%) and the College of Education (14%). Top course choices were Accountancy, Civil Engineering, Nursing and Psychology,” PLM said.

PLM said online freshmen enrollment will start on July 19.
