PHILIPPINE NORMAL UNIVERSITY PUSHING THROUGH WITH OPENING OF CLASSES ON AUG. 27

IT’S all systems for Philippine Normal University as it will proceed with the scheduled opening of classes on August 27 after concluding its sectoral consultation.

The university earlier announced a possible delay in its opening of classes after the Department of Education moved the school opening to October 5 for basic education curriculum.

But following an online consultation attended by concerned sectors of PNU, the school decided to push through with its scheduled date in which the first two weeks will only be a simulation to assess concerns on the implementation of its flexible learning modality.

As per the PNU-University Student Council, the consultation tackled the readiness of the university to start classes in consideration of the survey that was conducted across the university system and attended by both faculty and students.

Meanwhile, the printing of modules and tool kits which will be distributed to students who will be opting for modular learning, are now being hastened to meet the demands for the upcoming academic year, the council added.

The PNU also launched a donation drive called ‘Project Tanglaw’ to help provide gadgets and data plans to students without the means to participate in online classes.
