THE NATIONAL University and the University of the East extended their enrollment period for the incoming school year because of the Enhanced Community Quarantine imposed in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.

In a Facebook post, NU said the extension will give students more time to enroll.

“Due to the national government’s directive on the reimplementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine as well as the alarming increase of Covid cases, the opening of classes for the 1st term AY 2021-2022 will be moved to August 23, 2021. Regular enrollment is extended until August 21,” it said.

Meanwhile, the University of the East announced that it extended its enrollment period for college and basic education students until September 10, 2021.

Incoming or current Dentistry students can only enroll until August 31, 2021.

UE President Ester Garcia also bared that colleges will conduct catch-up programs for late enrollees.

Despite requests of students to postpone the opening of classes, UE began the first semester of AY 2021-2022 on Monday, August 9.
