MARIANO MARCOS STATE U STUDENTS BAG AWARDS IN CASE STUDY COMPETITION
STUDENTS of the College of Business, Economics and Accountancy of the Mariano Marcos State University claimed major awards in the Case Study Competition during the National Economics Summit.
Fourth year students Frances Kyla Labuguen, Christopher Demetrio Ruiz, Kristel Lyn Saldivar and Arriane Vivero, third-year students Karmela Abugan, Kathlyn Mae Belizar, Jody-Ann Rose Guzman, and John Karl Ramos and freshman Jaylor Agunat won the competition with their study “Covid19 Pandemic: Strategic Preparedness and Response of the Philippines.”
The students received a P10,000 and a certificate of recognition.
Meanwhile, another group comprised of fourth year students Jenny Joy Dela Cruz, Jamaica Gaile Dagan, Allelie Grace Aoalin, and Rica Mae Gamet; Junilen Rica Caliboso (3rd year); and five students from different universities placed third with their study, “Revamp for a Better Healthcare System.”
The students are among the 24 representatives of the MMSU CBEA.
Ericson Pambid, CBEA’s Economic Society adviser, said the participants came up with policy recommendations on economic issues brought about by the Covid19 pandemic.
NES 2021 virtually gathered 260 students from various universities in the Philippines to engage in discourse, debates, and to consolidate views and opinions on economic issues that shape the country, Pambid said.
