LAOAG City has reportedly reached its target number of enrollees for the school year 2020-2021.

A top school official of the city announced the good news with three weeks to go before classes officially begin.

“Amid the global pandemic, we were able to reach our projected target at 100 percent for public schools while 52 percent in private schools,” Laoag City schools division superintendent Vilma Eda said in an interview.

A total number of 26,369 students are currently enrolled in which 21,824 are in public schools while 3,722 are in private schools.

Eda said she is hopeful that the number of enrollees will still increase as schools will still accept learners until December 2020. “Enrollment will be extended to accommodate those learners who have not yet enrolled and the submission of documentary requirements shall be deferred until December 2020,” she said.
