HIGH School students of the Holy Angel University in Pampanga bagged several awards in the recently concluded 18th National Youth Congress.

The group of Godwin Pring, Jasper John Quitalig, John Matthew Sausora, Khrt Zion Borlaza, Ralph Denzel Pamintuan, Quinn Benedict de Jesus, and Tiffany Dekingco bested entries from over 50 schools to claim first place in essay writing and video-making, and place second in quiz bee competitions.

The group was mentored by Marc Lorenz Rivera.

NYC is presented by the University of the Philippines Economics Society and the UP School of Economics Student Council.

This year, the congress focused on the significance of human welfare in development through various talks and activities revolving around the role of economics and the youth in creating people-centered policies and programs.

The contest was held last November 20 to 21 behind the theme ‘Descend to Ascend: Moving Towards Genuine Development for an Empowered Nation.’

Established in 2004, NYC aims to transform delegates into change makers with consciousness in people-centered development and economic innovations.
