STUDENTS from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines are asking for donations to help peers and people who were affected by the fire that broke out near the school.

The Trailblazer Publication, the official student publication of the USTP – Cagayan de Oro, reported that many students and residents affected by fire need assistance.

The fire razed a residential area in Sitio Lawesbra, Lapasan on Monday afternoon.

Reports added that the fire broke out at around 1 p.m. and was put out at 3 p.m.

Classes in USTP were halted and students and staff were ordered to vacate the campus.

Those who want to donate can drop their donations at the USTP guard house.
