A FACULTY member of the De La Salle University Dasmariñas has completed her faculty exchange stint at the University of Atma Jaya in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Isolde Valera is a professor from the DLSU-D Communications and Journalism Department.

It said that Valera shared her expertise with the students and faculty of UAJY and learned from their heritage through a Batik-making cultural tour and cultural immersion during the faculty exchange program.

As an expert on communications and sociology, she handled international classes for intercultural communication, mass communication and organizational communication.

Valera facilitated leadership and communication training for faculty and staff focused on diversity.

She also talked about developing communication skills for managing conflict using Philippine and global perspectives.

“CJD’s primary goal is to revive and strengthen the faculty exchange program with partner institutions like UAJY for synergy, knowledge sharing, collaboration and cooperation,” CJD Chairperson Dr. Nor Cachuela said.

“Ms. Valera successfully identified initiatives that can bring mutual benefits to both DLSUD and UAJY,” she added.
