THE CEBU Institute of Technology–University (CIT-U) has extended its shift to online classes until October 4 following a security concern reported on September 25.

In an advisory issued on September 28, the university said the security concern had been referred to and addressed by the proper authorities.

As a precautionary measure, CIT-U said it would maintain heightened vigilance and continue reviewing appropriate safety and security measures.

Classes will remain online from September 29 to October 4, while the Accounting Office and Registrar’s Office will reopen on Wednesday, September 30.

The university initially shifted all classes online and implemented remote work arrangements for employees on September 25 amid an ongoing investigation by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Teachers and instructors were instructed to coordinate with their respective classes regarding online learning platforms, schedules and other necessary arrangements.

Employees were likewise advised to coordinate with their supervisors regarding remote work arrangements.

“Everyone is encouraged to remain safe, stay informed through official channels, and continue to monitor further announcements and updates,” the university said in its September 25 advisory.
