CHED ALLOWS BICOL UNIVERSITIES, COLLEGES TO RESUME F2F CLASSES

/ 26 July 2021

EIGHT universities and colleges in Region 5 were allowed to conduct limited face-to-face classes for their medical and allied health programs, the Commission on Higher Education said on Sunday.

These are the Naga College Foundation, Bicol University, Bicol Christian College of Medicine, Mabini Colleges, Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation, University of Nueva Caceres, Universidad de Sta. Isabel and Ago Medical and Educational Center.

As of June 21, CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera said that at least 93 HEIs have been issued with authority to hold limited in-person classes.

De Vera added that the commission received 218 intents and 155 applications for physical classes.

The commission is studying the possibility of resuming physical classes for engineering, information technology, industrial technology and maritime students.

“We are generating data, and if the data shows that it is safe, we will recommend the next semesters of the degree programs that will have limited face to face,” he said.
