A CHOIR group from the Central Luzon State University won several awards at the Leonardo Da Vinci International Choral Festival held earlier this month.

The Maestro Singers placed first in the Virtual Choir Category. It also secured the second spot in the Sacred Music Category and ranked 5th in the Grand Prix Round.

Since its establishment in 1998, the group has won seven international awards.

The school said that 25 choirs from various countries such as Japan, Argentina, Italy and United Kingdom participated in the festival.

The choral festival was one of the new projects of the co-founder of the Florence International Choir Festival Leonardo Sagliocca.

It aims to create opportunities for cultural exchanges between the participating countries.
