CENTRAL LUZON STATE U CONFERS HONORARY DEGREE ON DA SECRETARY

THE CENTRAL Luzon State University conferred Doctor of Humanities honoris causa on Agriculture Secretary Willian Dar during the school’s graduation ceremony last week.

The university said that it awarded the degree to recognize Dar’s outstanding and exemplary performance in the field of public service.

It added that the DA’s “Plant, Plant, Plant program” increased the nation’s agri-fishery output which helped ensure food productivity amid the pandemic.

“The secretary’s developmental engagements led to the increase in the  national budget of the Department of Agriculture. In particular, the Council is cognizant of Sec. Dar’s significant contributions to the further modernization of farming and fisheries, industrialization of the value-chain approach of agricultural   commodity, and digitization of farming and agribusiness activities,” CLSU said in its newsletter, referring to the school’s Academic Council.

The school also acknowledged Dar’s initiative to systematize and strategize the development and promotion of agricultural exports, support farm consolidation  arrangements, and strengthen private sectors and other stakeholders’ involvement “in the creation of the agriculture roadmap development.”
