CAGAYAN STATE U GETS P.8-M GRANT FOR ESSENTIAL OIL PROJECT
THE CAGAYAN State University has entered into another pact with the Department of Science and Technology Region 2, this time for the development of essential oil.
The university received P800,000 for its “Fragrant Grass and Essential Oil Industry Development Program in Cagayan Valley” on Monday.
“The Project seeks to concretize the oil industry niche in Lal-lo through Science and Technology interventions,” it said.
“The Municipality of Lal-lo is known for its growing Citronella oil industry, a multi-beneficial essential oil that is best known as an insect repellent among its other anti-fungal properties,” CSU said on Facebook.
The P800,000 grant is part of the Local Grant-In-Aid Fund, the school said.
The project will be under the leadership of CSU Lal-lo Campus Officer-in-Charge Florante Victor Balatico and Prof. Nenette T. Columna as project leader.
