THE COMMISSION on Higher Education granted scholarship grants to 746 students of the Visayas State University.

Under the Tertiary Education Subsidy, each student will receive P20,000 for the first semester of the school year.

The scholarship program is under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Law signed in 2017.

It aims to support poor students in state universities and colleges.

The university said the distribution of checks will continue until the end of the month. Students can cash in their checks on-site.

The second stipend will be released in December.
