4 UST PROFS ELECTED TO NAT’L CHEMISTRY BOARD
FOUR academic researchers from the University of Santo Tomas were recently elected as members of the Board of Directors of the Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas.
They are Professor Emeritus Fortunato B. Sevilla III, Professor Christina A. Binag, Dr. Alan Rodelle M. Salcedo, and Associate Professor Felicidad Christina Peñafiel.
These professors are from the university’s Department of Chemistry.
Sevilla III and Binag were elected to a three-year term from 2025 to 2028, while Salcedo was elected to a two-year term from 2025 to 2027.
Finally, Peñafiel was elected to a one-year term from 2025 to 2026.
The Kapisanang Kimika ng Pilipinas (Chemical Society of the Philippines) is an 85-year-old society of chemists. It publishes scholarly articles in the journal Kimika and regularly hosts conferences and scientific activities
