FOR their mobile application prototype, three students from the Centro Escolar University were hailed as champions in UNESCO’s 5th Global Media and Information Literacy Youth Hackathon.

Team Achieving Global Oneness through Synergy Philippines was composed of Charlene Grace Macapagal, Marie Francheska Hermosa and Alexene Faith Tomate.

They were joined by students from the Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite and University of Santo Tomas.

Team AGOS bested 96 groups from 40 countries with their application called MILES or Media and Information Literacy Empowerment Space.

Two members of the team will travel to Jordan for the Global MIL Week 2023 to present their work.

Jose Cris Sotto, a faculty member of CEU Malolos, and another international coach served as the students’ mentors.
