MANILA LGU PROVIDES TVs TO SCHOOLS

/ 2 December 2025

MANILA — The Manila City Local Government Unit has delivered smart TVs to public schools as part of the city’s push for the digitization and modernization of education.

The Manila Public Information Office said the initiative fulfills Mayor Isko Moreno’s promise of providing “One Smart TV = One Classroom.”

According to the MPIO, the Manila LGU provided a total of 397 laptops and 133 smart TVs to 72 public elementary schools to strengthen technological support for Kindergarten learners and enhance their literacy, comprehension, and digital familiarity.

The distribution event was held at the San Andres Sports Complex.

“Lahat ng unnecessary expenses isinantabi ko, and we converted it to 143 million to equip our teachers and our classrooms today. This is just simple fiscal management — ibig sabihin, you know your priority despite limited resources,” Moreno said.

The mayor added that the Manila City Government continues to work on programs focused on meeting Minimum Basic Needs, including education, health, housing, and livelihood.
