BACOLOD RELEASES P9.44-M IN EMERGENCY ALLOWANCES FOR TEACHERS
BACOLOD City Mayor Greg Gasataya has approved the release of P9.44 million in Emergency Cost of Living Allowance (ECOLA) and other financial support for public school teachers and uniformed personnel serving the city.
In a move to recognize the vital contributions of frontline workers in education and public safety, Gasataya signed the fund release to ensure that thousands of beneficiaries receive their long-overdue allowances.
A total of 3,860 public school teachers in Bacolod will receive ECOLA payments of P2,200 per month, covering April to June 2025.
The mayor highlighted the importance of providing timely support to educators, especially those working in resource-constrained environments.
“Our teachers shape young minds every day, often with limited tools and overwhelming responsibilities,” said Gasataya. “Ensuring they receive their allowances is the least we can do to show our appreciation for their sacrifices.”
“These everyday heroes risk their lives, care for our safety, and serve with honor. Providing them with this support is a simple but meaningful way to show respect for their dedication,” he added.
Gasataya assured that the city government remains committed to delivering timely assistance to public servants who continue to uphold essential community services.
