UNIVERSITY OF PERPETUAL HELP DOMINATES IN NCAA WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL, CONTINUES WINNING STREAK

THE UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help System Dalta continued their dominant run in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament with a straight-set victory over Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17, securing their third consecutive win at the San Beda gym Saturday (01 Mar 2025).

Winnie Bedaña was the standout player for the Lady Altas, contributing a total of 17 points, including 15 attacks and two blocks, leading her team to the impressive win.

Meanwhile, defending three-time champions, the College of Saint Benilde, remained undefeated after easily dispatching Jose Rizal University, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20. Clydel Catarig spearheaded the Lady Blazers’ offense with 14 kills, as they improved to 2-0 in the tournament.

In the men’s division, Perpetual also clinched a hard-fought win, overcoming Lyceum  in five sets, 25-15, 25-16, 22-25, 19-25, 15-9, to remain unbeaten in three matches. Jeff Marapoc delivered an exceptional performance, scoring a match-high 24 points from 23 attacks and a service ace.

Meanwhile, the College of Saint Benilde men’s volleyball team also earned a 3-0 victory over JRU, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22, to improve their record to 2-0. Rocky Motol was key for the Blazers with 14 points, including 11 attacks and three blocks.

With these wins, both Perpetual and Saint Benilde have continued their strong campaigns, asserting their dominance in both the women’s and men’s divisions of the NCAA volleyball tournament.
