DLSU SHS STUDENTS WIN BIG IN HONG KONG SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
SENIOR high school students from De La Salle University won multiple awards in the Heat Round of the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad 2024.
Christopher Aduviso Jr., Rianna Marie Salazar, and Sophia Monique Chan outperformed competitors in the senior secondary category, securing gold awards.
Rosche Myrhe Wania earned a silver award, while Aurelio Nicolas Luya and Roxburgh Yu claimed bronze in the same category.
Meanwhile, Giesel Arce received a participation award.
The university commended the students for their achievements.
“With every formula solved and every problem tackled, our awardees showcased not just their knowledge but also the spirit of perseverance that makes DLSU loud and proud,” it said on Facebook.
“A round of applause to these future scientists— your hard work and dedication have truly paid off! Here’s to many more breakthroughs ahead. Animo La Salle!”
The HKISO is an international science competition held annually, covering four categories: physics, biology, chemistry, and integrated science.
Open to students from Grade 2 to Grade 12, the competition follows the Hong Kong School Science Syllabus, testing participants based on their level of study.
Winners of the Heat Round have the opportunity to collaborate with participants from different regions and conduct experiments in Singapore or Hong Kong.
