UST CFAD HEADS LEAD PH’s TOP ART EDUCATOR GROUP
ADMINISTRATORS from the College of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Santo Tomas are currently leading the Council of Visual Arts and Design Educators, Inc., one of the largest associations of art and design educators in the Philippines.
This year, Thomasian art educators have assumed key roles in ArtDEC, with CFAD Assistant Professor Gigi B. Ocampo serving as President and CFAD Assistant Dean Associate Professor Jennifer S. Aguilar as Vice-President.
ArtDEC’s membership includes faculty from prominent institutions such as the University of the Philippines, Far Eastern University, and St. Scholastica’s College, all of whom are committed to advancing art and design education in the Philippines.
Founded in October 2012 and officially registered in 2013, ArtDEC aims to provide professional development and networking opportunities for educators and practitioners in the creative industries.
ArtDEC’s major 2024 event was its annual conference held from July 4-6 at the University of San Carlos’ Talamban Campus in Cebu City. The conference theme, “REDESIGN,” explored shifts in design practice.
Co-hosted by UST CFAD, the University of San Carlos, and partnered with National Bookstore, the event fostered discussions on emerging trends in art and design.
