PUP OPEN UNIVERSITY HOLDS FIRST SYNCHRONOUS CLASSES FOR 72 PDLS
SEVENTY-TWO Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) attended the synchronous classes conducted by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Open University System (PUP OUS) at Manila City Jail.
In a Facebook post, PUP OUS announced that it held its first-ever synchronous session on Wednesday, September 18.
The PDLs are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Marketing Management.
“This event marked a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to providing quality education to marginalized sectors of society,” PUP OUS stated.
The university added that “the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and determination as the PDL students embraced this unique opportunity to further their education.”
According to PUP OUS, the initiative equips students with knowledge and skills, instills hope, and empowers them to envision a brighter future beyond their current circumstances.
The university plans to continue conducting synchronous sessions for PDL students, ensuring they receive the same academic support and engagement as their counterparts on the main campus.
