THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines-Los Baños has expanded its linkages with two industry players in the agriculture sector.

The UPLB Institute of Animal Science recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Global Food Partners to conduct interdisciplinary research and programs on cage-free egg production in the country.

GFP is an international supply-chain consultancy.

Meanwhile, UPLB also inked a memorandum of agreement with BASF Philippines, Inc.

Through the agreement, learners taking up agriculture and agriculture-related courses can complete their internship at BASF PH.

BASF PH is one of the leading suppliers of chemicals in the Philippines. Its Agricultural Research Station, where field trials are conducted, is in Bay, Laguna, UPLB said.

The MOU and MOA were signed by UPLB Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. Meanwhile, key officials from GFP and BASF PH signed the agreements.
