TIP STUDENTS WIN IN INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY FAIR
INDUSTRIAL engineering students from the Technological Institute of the Philippines Quezon City placed third in the 10th De La Salle University Innovation and Technology Fair.
The team composed of Cyra Eve Helis, Eisen Jules Cabusas, Samantha Sophia Beldua, Kyle Vincent Pangan and Duane Marc Malonda was recognized for designing the “BuddyKo” application which promotes reproductive and sexual health awareness.
They were mentored by Engr. Jaypy Tenerife, who served as their adviser.
“BuddyKo” is also a tool for building an online community and safe space for individuals to access information and services related to sexual and reproductive health.
The students worked on the application as part of their Project Feasibility coursework, according to the university.
The competition aimed to promote technologies and innovations aligned with the theme “Women, Youth, and Indigenous Peoples: Towards Inclusivity in Innovation, Creativity, and Sustainability.”
