THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines-Visayas inked a partnership agreement with the local government of Miagao to construct a P70-million road project.

“The University of the Philippines Visayas has several new infrastructure projects which are about to start implementation in Miagao and Iloilo City campuses,” UPV said.

The construction of the UP Visayas Road was initiated by Mayor Richard Garin and Rep. Janette Loreto-Garin. It will be funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2023.

The project is seen to change the landscape of the area. There will be a new road leading to the academic loop, road reblocking and repair from Box 2 to covered court.

There will also be a road widening from the start of the new road construction to the intersection of the proposed baseball field, enterprise community hub and cultural center.
